Materials and Techniques: I am a traditional hand bookbinder and marbler. Most of my journals are made of hand cut and folded paper, sewn with waxed linen thread. The covers are handmade and dyed flax paper (purchased) and the spines are a variety of wood cut, drilled, sanded, and waxed.

Marbling is a mix of acrylics and watercolor. All watercolor paints are handmade by me. Wood shapes (purchased) are sanded and dipped in an alum solution. Paints are modified depending on the marbling style desired, and floated on a bath of carrageenan and manipulated into the pattern. The wood is then dipped into the bath, and once dried is varnished.

Artist Bio: I grew up just outside Boston, Massachusetts, and have always had a deep love of art in all its forms. I graduated from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2017 with a BFA in Creative Writing and a minor in Illustration. During my senior year I took a book arts class and instantly knew I had to learn more. I received my Certificate of Bookbinding from the North Bennet Street School in 2021, and started working as a gold finisher at Harcourt Binery in 2023.
